National News: After the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, India is now seen taking an aggressive stance against Pakistan not only on only diplomatic, but also on global economic forums. On Monday, India's Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a big bet during the 58th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Milan, Italy.

Sitharaman expressed deep objections to the financial assistance to Pakistan in a special meeting with Masato Kanda, President of ADB and clearly demanded that the country that shelters terror should not be given financial assistance. This is a big indication from India that now Pakistan will get an answer on every platform - whether it is a battleground or development.

Italy's Finance Minister

Sitharaman did not limit the issue to ADB just. He also spoke to Italy's Finance Minister Giancarlo Deorgetti and reiterated an appeal to stop the international support for Pakistan. India's attitude shows that now "is not the time of talks, it is time for action."

Roadmap of economic reforms also kept in front

Not only opposition, Sitharaman also put India's positive economic policy and development schemes prominently. He informed that India is now promoting economic development led by the private sector. For this, the government has taken revolutionary steps like Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), Corporate Tax Cut, GST, PLI Scheme, National Infrastructure Pipeline and Motion Power Master Plan.

ADB President's support

These priorities and economic vision of India were also appreciated by ADB President Masato Kanda. He openly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Developed India 2047' target and said that ADB will cooperate with India. Kanda described India as the center of new financial models and innovations.

India's changed attitude

This development is a direct proof of the change in India's foreign policy in the last few years. India is now not just making rhetoric on terrorism, but is taking concrete global steps. India wants to convey a message against Pakistan by putting pressure on economic forums that now the merchants of terror will not be spared under any circumstances.
New India is now firmly putting its side on every platform in the world, not just on the border - and the countries that support terror will have to pay the price financially.
